After Cryotherapy Treatment

  1. After cryotherapy, it is normal for the area to sting and/or itch for several hours.
  2. You may experience blistering, which is normal. If the blister becomes bothersome, you may sterilize a needle over an open flame and puncture the blister to drain the fluid. Do not pick off the top of the blister.
  3. The treated area will crust and scab over the next several days. Cleanse the area with mild soap and water. Do not scrub.
  4. You may use Vaseline or Aquaphor on the crusted area, which will protect the skin and promote healing.
  5. The crust typically comes off over 1-2 weeks, and the skin will continue to smooth out over 2-3 weeks. Residual redness or color change is common and may take up to 4-6 weeks for the skin to return to its normal appearance.

🚨We Need Your Help!🚨

Please help your Core Dermatology physicians urge Congress to fight Medicare cuts.

Proposed Medicare cuts threaten access to skin cancer care. Washington officials are proposing deep cuts to Medicare payments for dermatology—cuts so severe they could force clinics to close and significantly reduce access to care. The result: longer waits, longer drives, and delayed skin cancer diagnoses, putting millions of older Americans at risk.
