How to use Topical Steroids

• Wash the area to be treated with warm water and a gentle soap such as Dove or Cerave
  • Note that usually topical steroids are to be used twice daily. It is only necessary to wash the area once daily. 
• Apply a thin layer of steroid to the affected area. Wash your hand after application.
• Only use the steroid where and for how long as instructed by your physician. Steroids may thin the skin if used inappropriately for long periods of time.  Please contact your physician if you think the steroid has not helped after it was used as instructed.
